Dr. Blessy Varughese is a distinguished career counsellor and educator with a rich background in sociology and counselling psychology. Her academic journey began with a BA in Sociology from Stella Maris College, Chennai, followed by an M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology from the Madras School of Social Work. She further honed her expertise by pursuing an M.Phil and PhD in Counselling Psychology, with her M.Phil from the Madras School of Social Work and PhD from Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women in Coimbatore. Additionally, Dr. Varughese holds a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Counselling from Psychoshiksha and has completed a Volunteer Training Program at NIMHANS.
Her previous roles include serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Madhur Kesari Jain College for Women, Vaniyambadi and at Christ University, Bangalore, where she imparted knowledge in the field of teaching. Her dedication to the profession and commitment to social work have earned her prestigious accolades, including the Best Student Award by the Tamil Nadu Freedom Fighters Association in 2010 and the International Young Achiever Award by the Life Literary Association in Singapore in 2024.
